Well folks, this weekend was amazing! I am tired, but I'm so filled with energy. I'm feeling very blessed right about now.
Oh and I got to see Howard Hewitt with his handsome self. I didn't get my autograph or picture with him because I was busy chatting with customers. But, I did see him up close. He walked by my table as he entered the auditorium.
I spent all last week making new jewelry to try to get ready for the Hat-titude Mother's Day Jazz Brunch at the Riverdale Town Center. And of course Friday had to be the busiest day. When it rains, it pours!
First, my new kitchen table is my new work station for now. There is all this room to spread out. I am able to move, shift and design as I please. My table is a mess, but the creativity flowed freely.
I made some really nice pieces. They definitely drew a crowd. I did well for my first "real" event.
So Friday, my phone rang all day. I also filled a custom order for a pair or earrings. My customer picked up her order then asked for another gift for her mother in law to be picked up on Sunday.
On Saturday morning, I set up my table. I was shaking I was so nervous. My men's jewelry model and assistant and son helped me set up. I was rather proud of my all white jewelry display.
The ladies attending the Mother's Day event were stunning. They came out in their Sunday best. They were very interested in my jewelry designs.
I sold some jewelry and made some good connections. One of my booth visitors wants to discuss a wholesale order of about 100 bracelets. A few others want custom orders.
On Friday night an order came through on Etsy for a skull necklace going to the U.K. That will ship Monday. On Sunday, I filled two orders for Mother's Day gifts.
Yep! This was a really, really good Mother's Day weekend 2014.
Now all I have to do is get ready for my next event the After Work Cool Down on next Thursday, May 22 at the Riverdale Town Center. Oh, and that day just happens to be the day of my son's 5th grade graduation and a week before my oldest son's high school graduation.
Here's to another busy week in jewelry!
How was your Mother's Day?
